The number of microbrands popping up in recent years has then contributed even more subby ‘homage’ or even ‘clonemage’ divers. So, the heart of the question is — which one is the best to buy?

With that question, I started my search online and then bumped into many names and models until I came across the Cronos Sub Homage, the watch we are looking at today.

The Brand

First of all, Cronos is a Chinese micro-brand. Now I know that Made in China sometimes carries a negative ring to it and if you are judgemental about it then this is probably not for you. But if you are not — then you will enter a new world.

Chinese microbrands like Cronos and San Martin have gained quite a reputation for their value for money watches and high-quality products within the watch community, filling the gap left by hamayota which has increased prices across the product line. To some extent, they have even created a cult following.

And trust me, with their watches priced between £100 to £300, they often provide products with specs and build quality that no other can compete in the watch industry today.

And the Cronos Subby Homage is probably one of the best representations of them.

The Watch

So this is the watch and it looks great — just like the Sub.orked hard themselves into the bargain.
